When I got my American Express Everyday Preferred Card, the offer I took advantage of was to get one year of Amazon Prime plus 15,000 Membership Rewards points after I made $1,000 in purchases with my new Card in the first three months. I just recently hit the $1,000 mark (I had been using my Freedom card for groceries during the first quarter of 2015), and I just got an email with a promotional code for my free year of Amazon Prime. Since I am already a member, (we live on Amazon), Amex will use the code to add one year of Prime in October, when my Prime was scheduled to renew. This is a $99 savings to me.
