The Points Mom

Positive Changes To Hilton Honors Coming In 2018

Hilton Honors has just announced some positive changes to their Hilton Honors loyalty program.

An Easier Way to Earn More Points for Elite Status Members

Hilton Honors is getting rid of the My Way Earning Style Options, which truthfully I always found confusing. If you are a Hilton Honors Elite Status Member, you earn more Hilton Honors points on your stays.  Currently you earn bonus points on base points as follows: Silver 15% point bonus, Gold 25% point bonus and Diamond 50% point bonus.  However, starting in April, Hilton members will enjoy new elite tier bonus rates for Silver 20% points bonus, Gold 80% point bonus and Diamond 100% point bonus.  Don’t forget, you also get Gold status if you have an American Express Platinum CardAmerican Express Business Platinum Card or an American Express Hilton Honors Surpass Card.

A Hilton Honors Exclusive: Unlimited Milestone Bonuses

Hilton Honors members will earn 10,000 Bonus Points on every tenth night, once members reach at least 40 nights in a calendar year. It’s not a limited time offer, no registration is required and there is no cap- the more members stay at Hilton, the more Points they earn. On top of that, for Diamond members, there is an additional bonus at 60 nights in one year – a 30,000 Bonus Points reward.

Elite Rollover Nights

Starting this year, Silver, Gold and Diamond members can rollover qualifying nights earned beyond their current elite tier requirements to count towards their elite tier status the following year.

Gifting Elite Status

Members staying 60 or more nights in a calendar year will also have the ability to gift Gold status. Stay 100+ nights and that gift gets upgraded to Diamond.

While many of these changes begin in April, several new benefits and ways to earn are already available to members in 2018. In addition to enjoying breakfast perks at a host of Hilton brands, Gold and Diamond Hilton Honors members can now enjoy complimentary Continental breakfast or a food and beverage credit at all of Hilton’s luxury properties, including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts. Beginning, January 18, members will also have access to four new American Express cobranded cards.
